A lot of people ask me what the free preview actually contains. So let me tell you exactly.

Part One: The Prologue

The first piece is a standalone story set before the events of Grey House: The Feeding.

It takes place inside Grey House — the same house, the same Kalos, the same particular atmosphere of luxury and danger that runs through the whole series. But it's a different entry point. A different character. A different kind of invitation.

You don't need to have read anything else to understand it. It begins, it unfolds, it ends. It's a complete story.

What it does — and what it's designed to do — is give you the world. The texture of it. The way the Kalos move through a room. The way Grey House itself seems to have opinions about the people inside it.

By the time you finish the prologue, you'll know whether this series is for you.

Part Two: The First Three Chapters of the Novel

The second piece is the opening of Grey House: The Feeding, exactly as it will appear when the book releases on January 6, 2027.

Three full chapters. The beginning of the story. The moment the door opens.

I'm not going to summarize it here — that would defeat the purpose. But I will say this: the novel starts in the middle of something. Not an action scene, not an explosion. Something quieter and more unsettling than that.

The Kalos are already watching. They've already decided. The question the novel asks — the question the first three chapters begin to answer — is whether the person they've chosen will figure that out in time.

What the Kalos Are

Since I'm here: the Kalos are not supernatural. They don't have fangs. They don't turn into anything.

They are simply people who stopped pretending to be limited by the same things that limit everyone else — and discovered that the world will allow almost anything, if you have enough money and enough patience and enough willingness to look the part.

Grey House is where they gather. It's old. It has rules. And it has a very particular relationship with the people it lets inside.
